But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ (1 John 2:27).
 
Scripture is not what I think it means to me personally. Scripture is what God meant it to say. There may be 1000 different human applications to any given verse, but there is only one true meaning that God gives it. And I am commanded to interpret it responsibly and obey it, which proves I believe it. “We are required and obligated not only to know it, but to live by it, by every Word that comes to us by God” – RC Sproul. I am not to be the personal interpreter of God’s intended meaning in Scripture, but I am to be the grateful, humble, obedient, and joyful receiver of it. 
 
How do I get to the true revelation of Scripture? I must get to the meaning of it. This requires an accurate interpretation on my part and knowing that context is the great interpreter of Scripture. Thankfully, I am not alone when interpreting Scripture. I have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit to guide me into all truth and teach me all things, including how to correctly interpret Scripture, discern right from almost right, and rightly apply God’s Word to my life.
